We have a Father!
Psalms 139:13-14 “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” God speaks about being our Father to help us realize that we are His children (His Creation) Isaiah 64:8 “Yet you, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.” I think this relationship helps us to realize the similarities between an earthly parent to his children and a Heavenly Father to His children. Being a parent is a huge responsibility, but thankfully we have a Father who sent His son to be an example of who to imitate. Ephesians 5:1 “Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are His children. Live a life filled with Love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.” So the Bible clearly says that we, as Gods children, are to imitate and follow the example that Jesus gave us. Children are naturally made to imitate their parents. They naturally learn to walk by watching, they naturally learn to talk by listening, they learn certain behaviors just by observing ours. Clearly, parents have a tremendous role in shaping and guiding their children on the path they should go.
Children are great imitators,
So let’s give them something great to imitate!
